మండీ ధరల పట్టీలో అత్యధిక ధర ఉన్న మండీని చూసి బండి కట్టడం సహజం. కానీ ఆ మండీ 130 కి.మీ. దూరంలో ఉంటే, ఎక్కువ వచ్చిన ధర రవాణాలోనే పోతుంది. లెక్కించాల్సింది ఒక్కటే — రవాణా తీసేసిన తర్వాత క్వింటాలుకు చేతికి ఎంత వస్తుంది.

అన్ని మండీలు రోజూ ధరలు నివేదించవు. మూడు వారాల క్రితం నమోదైన ఎక్కువ ధర ఇప్పటికీ పట్టీలో కనిపించవచ్చు — కానీ అది ఇప్పటి ధర కాదు. మేము ధర ఎంత పాతదైతే దాని ప్రాధాన్యం అంత తగ్గిస్తాము: 3 రోజుల వరకు పూర్తి విలువ, 21 రోజులు దాటితే అసలు పైన చూపించము.

అనంతపురం మండీలలో గత 60 రోజులలో వేరుశెనగ అత్యల్ప, అత్యధిక ధరల మధ్య ₹3,670 తేడా ఉంది (₹4,630 నుంచి ₹8,300). అంటే ఎక్కడ, ఎప్పుడు అమ్మారన్నదే పెద్ద తేడా చూపింది. ఆ నిర్ణయం సరిగా తీసుకోవాలంటే సరైన అంకెను పోల్చాలి.
It is natural to look down a price list, find the highest number and load the cart. But if that yard is 130 km away, the extra can vanish into the trip. There is only one number worth comparing: what reaches your hand per quintal after transport.

On the list the far mandi looks ₹350 better. After transport it is ₹50 worse — before counting the day it costs you and the risk of not finding a vehicle.
Those are illustrative figures. The prices page does this arithmetic for you from the actual distance and ranks the yards by take-home price, not headline price.
Not every yard reports every day. A high price recorded three weeks ago can still be sitting in the list — but it is not an offer today. We discount a price as it ages: full weight up to three days old, tapering after that, and past three weeks it no longer leads the list at all.
This is not hypothetical: without that rule a 46-day-old ₹7,228 quote outranked a same-day ₹6,650 one in our own list.
Across the Anantapur mandis in the last 60 days, groundnut ranged from ₹4,630 to ₹8,300 — a ₹3,670 spread on the same crop. Where and when you sell is the decision that moves the money, and making it well means comparing the right number.
