There is no single answer to "what is today's tomato price". Even in the same yard on the same day the price moves with the grade, and by tomorrow the market itself may have turned. So before the number, you need to know which number to read.

The gap between the lowest and highest quote is wider for tomato than for grain, because grading does so much of the work. Judge which grade your lot will actually make, then read the modal price against that — not the maximum.
Tomato prices follow arrivals. In the weeks when everyone harvests together, the price falls; in the lean stretches of the year it climbs. When rain or heat cuts into arrivals, the price can jump within days. When you are deciding which week to sell, use the price-trends page — the direction matters more than any single day's number.
Tomato is perishable. "Let us wait for tomorrow" can work for grain; it does not work here — the crop softens and the price moves at the same time. If the take-home price comes out even, take the nearer yard.
